I have been using QuickFolders for a few years now and absolutely love it! I pay for the Pro version and it is totally worth it. I also have others in my office setup with QuickFolders Pro now and it greatly increases our e-mail productivity! We received hundreds of e-mails per day and many of them simply need to be filed or replied to and then the original and reply filed. We have a construction company and keep a separate folder for each customer and for other business functions. With QuickFolders we can file away e-mails quickly and with ease! Once it's setup correctly and you get the hang of it you can actually file by using keyboard shortcuts, a few key letters and then enter to send it to the correct folder! The speed is easily 5-times faster at minimum than using a mouse to drag and drop!
This is a great extension and I sure hope they continue development indefinitely. Oh and the developers are great as well. I submit tips, feedback, bug reports and suggestions and they quickly respond to everything I send! I can't recommend this extension and the developer enough!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.4.1).

The app is good but is getting so complex. I have other things to do as to study addons.
The publicity is that annoying that I prefer my peace again, over the comfort of the addon. So I got rid of it.
Maybe you could bring out a quickfolder light for the free paying clients, do a minimal on maintenance and leave us in peace. I do not need that much rings and bells. Then I would reconcider using it again.

As a long time user of Quickfolders, I want to underline the excellent reactivity of Axel after a request for assistance.
Move to TB 115 was seamless for me, after a quick mail exchange with Axel.
Thanks a lot for an excellent TB complement to significantly simplify and increase the efficiency of all TB mail activities.

Love it. Awesome functionality. I was afraid to find limited color and design options, but in fact the look is very customizable. I switched to the Native Tabs option. Looks great.

I have been using this add-on since 8-9 years or so. It saves me 100 mouse kilometers per year and several hours of cumbersome folder navigation. Happy to support it every year.
I was hesitant installing TB115 on my mac, but it worked right away. Thanks Axel for this add-on. It makes TB a much more useful tool than eg M$ outlook.

This has become an indispensable add-on to my Thunderbird mail client.
It is easy to install and to configure (creating filters) to manage the amount of Email I used to receive.

The Pro feature opens up a couple of (to my mind) extremely critical functions - backup and recover filters.
I just recently experienced an issue where my local client configuration had to be deleted and reinstalled and I didn't have the backup! The developer responded to my issue promptly and his directions helped me recover the filter file - proving I needed the Pro license!

thanks for the lovely review. it seems it is for my other Add-on quickFilters, but I don't blame you because it is very closely integrated in the QuickFolders UX. On top of that, the they have the same initials (qF and QF)

I would like to filter colored folders as I want. If QuickFolder has such support to me?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.0).

Dear SangPhan87 - we had custom icons for QuickFolders users until Thunderbird 102 - this feature has to be (and will be) rewritten for Thunderbird 115, if it is possible.

You can already modify the color of folders in Tb115 via Right-click / Properties as a built-in function. Please add new feature requests on the QuickFolders Github for a bigger chance of being seen and implemented.

When will this be compatible with Supernova?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.16.1).

Working on it, I am very close to releasing a first beta. You can already download trial versions on the QuickFolders Github:

Awesome!

I have lots and lots of folders and sub-folders. There are a few that get many emails from my filters. This extension makes it easy to know when these folders have new email (open these folders without having to keep navigating all the way down to open them.

Complemento totalmente imprescindible en mi flujo de trabajo

I have used QuickFolders since the end of the last ice age. It is the single most useful add-on I've found. I would be completely lost without it. DO NOT HESITATE - Add QuickFolders to your add-ons and get your email world organized with the best add-on for that.

Unlike so much other tech, QuickFolders works just the way it should, and when a glitch happens due to a TB update to a newer version of TB, QuickFolders quickly fixes the glitch.

I really like this extension. It does exactly what I need. I tend to be a "mail hoarder" and I move everything from my Gmail accounts to my Fastmail account in T-bird. It's far easier--at least for me--to drag an email up rather than to the folders on the left. Also, I have a great deal of respect for the fact that the updates are a regular thing. It means that it's constantly being improved on. Well worth the cost!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.12).

Thanks for your kind words. I am still ironing out some kinks with performance, some users have a hard time with Tb 102 - there is also a fix from Thunderbird itself in 102.2 coming soon!

Hello,
I also think there is a real performance issue in the latest QuickFolders release.
Mozilla Thunderbird may now need up to 30 seconds displaying "Initializing QuickFolders" before becoming operational.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.11).

there are some problems with the folder iterator, in Thunderbird 102, we and Thunderbird Core are aware of the problem. see issue 283:
https://github.com/RealRaven2000/QuickFolders/issues/283

I recommend using the latest version from there to see if there is a difference.

there will be more improvements in QF code itself but I am also hoping that Mozilla will fix the caching issue reporred in bugs 1773822 and 1776280.

This extension is so great, but it slows down rendering of html email previews.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.11).

I am aware of performance issues (in Thunderbird 102) and am working on it - see issue 283. If you could add some comments there it would be very welcome!:

The freeze occurred after update to 5.11, and prior updates. There are no freezes during normal operation (no updates).
Is there better way to report problems?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.11).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Yes there is - on the QuickFolders github:
https://github.com/RealRaven2000/QuickFolders/issues

When you report an issue like this, it is important to know which version of Thunderbird you are running. Thunderbird 102 made a change to servernames that can potentially invalidate all tabs in QF and it tries to repair these based on the previously stored account. Apart from that, 5.11 actually does a lot _less_ then the previous versions so it should run quite a bit faster than 5.10.3 especially on Thunderbird 102.

Edit: no need to leave 2 reviews, you can also reach out directly to me via the support tab in QuickFolders settings - I usually reply on the same day.

Very nice addon, very usefull. :-)
But, please, how can I change language?
Thank you.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.9.1).

the language of your Thunderbird version is used. So if you have installed Italian Tb, then you will see the Italian translation of QF. You can also change the language from Thunderbird using General / Language & appearance / Language. Use the "Set Alternative" button to download and activate other languages. I do most of my translations with google translate, and some of them may be incomplete, for a full list of what;s there check my github page: https://github.com/RealRaven2000/QuickFolders/tree/ESR91/_locales

Is this Open source? On your website: [Quickfolders](https://quickfolders.org/), it is written that "QuickFolders is an open source project that is financed via annual licenses. It is based in Ireland and established as business see detail below." But, where is the source code repository?

Is this misleading?

----

Edit: Thanks for sharing the link!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.9.1).

it is 100% open source (including the licensing mechanism), and the repository is on github:

https://github.com/RealRaven2000/quickfolders/

I can add the link to the technical info here and to that section of the web site, There are plenty of links to the related github issue tracker on the version page, which will also bring you to the source code.

Great addon, always working well and very useful.

But the new licensing changes really ruined it for me. I'm intentionally only using the most basic of features, things that take minutes to organize myself, and these features were moved to a license. Going to have to stop using this extension, I am in the same boat as witrak().

Edit: Took me around 30 minutes to get back the functionality of *Click tab, go to folder* that I had before, no idea why 10+ tabs is a licensed feature. No discredit to the author, there are many amazing features that work great, I just disagree with the license options. If you can't replicate the feature you want yourself, go ahead and get the license.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.8.3).

I understand - if you can't afford a license right now, why don't you reach out and describe exactly which features you need - I may be able to help you out with a free license as well.

Just very brief now, received some unbelievably magicl help for my TB installation. Can only say have never been fortunate enough to receive anything else nearly equivalent. So now I'm going to hunt for the place to show my extremely grateful appreciation. Brian Turner
